There are Two main events that happen every year in Bear Lake that draw big crowds: Raspberry Days (first weekend in Aug) & 4th of July. 1. Christmas Tree Burning & Fireworks

When: December 30, 2023

Where: Heritage Park from 8 am-5 pm

Celebrate New Year's at Heritage Park! There will be Christmas tree burning, hot cocoa and donuts. End the night with a firework display.

2. Ski the Beav

When: December

Where: Beaver Mountain Ski Resort

Embrace the winter wonderland at Bear Lake and ski one of the most affordable ski resorts in Utah! Opening day is mid-December to early April. Beaver Mountain Ski Resort is the oldest continuously family owned ski resort in the US. You'll find 48 ski runs, terrain parks, and a mountain lodge with a rental shop, lessons and the Beaver Mountain Grill. The perfect adventure for a winter family getaway to Bear Lake and just 20 minutes away from our place.

3. Bear Lake Monster Winterfest

When: January 25-28, 2024

Where: Bear Lake State Park Marina

The Bear Lake Monster Winterfest features a wide range of activities for all ages. Come out and enjoy an icy monster plunge, cardboard boat regatta, ice fishing, outdoor Expo, 5K and more.

4. Skijoring The Bear

When: February 24 (Exhibition) & February 26, 2024

Where: Heritage Park

Skijoring The Bear; check out this fun competition where a horse and rider pull a skier at a fast pace through a course. Free entry for spectators.

5. Car Show

When: July 27, 2024 from 8 am - 4:30pm

Where: Wells C. Stock Park (344 N 4th St, Montpelier, ID)

Hot Rods, Classic Cars, Trucks and Motorcycles. See beautiful restored vintage cars.

6. Pioneer Day

When: July 20, 2024

Where: Laketown & Garden City

Pioneer Day is a Utah holiday that commemorates the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847. This event in Bear Lake includes breakfast from 7:30-10 am ($10/adults, $5/kids), outdoor games from 8-10 am and town parade at 12 pm at the Daughters of Utah Pioneer Museum.

 

Free BBQ at Heritage Park in Garden City at 6 pm on July 24. Catch some fireworks off Ideal Beach on Saturday, July 27 at 10 pm. 

 

7. Labor Day

When: Typically the Saturday of Labor Day weekend

Where: Ideal Beach

Most crowds leave the Lake by the middle of August, but you'll still find lots of fun during Labor Day weekend! Enjoy music, games and possibly a firework show. 

8. Parade of Homes

When: September 12-14, 19-21, 2024

Where: Garden City, Utah

The Top of Utah Parade of Homes showcases the latest and greatest in home design and decor. This is a great event to walk thru some beautiful homes with spectacular mountain and lake views.
